It's a nice little dispenser machined out of aluminum. It has a nut below the top button connected to the central shaft, and you adjust its height to adjust how much food is emitted with each press. It can be adjusted to provide a very slight dusting, or a more significant portion. Definitely worth five bucks, I'd say. But you might achieve similar results with salt and pepper dispensers found in any store.
